We found for the first time that TPY3m, a thieno[2,3-d]-pyrimidine derivative with properties of an allosteric partial agonist of the TSH receptor, can be used to compensate for thyroid deficiency caused by high-fat diet/STZ-induced T2DM without a significant inhibitory effect on TSH levels. The gene discussed is TSHR; the disease is type 2 diabetes mellitus.
