When considering all types of breast carcinomas (Figure 7A), patients with high expression of BMP-4 (p = 0.0013), SDF-1 (p = 0.038), or vimentin (p = 0.0032) demonstrated a significant improvement in overall survival, compared to those with lower expression, although the increase in survival was relatively limited. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL12 and breast carcinoma.
