Further analyses of the gene expression differences between the lowest and highest FURIN-expressing cancer cell lines yielded that out of the 12,650 genes analyzed, 1646 were downregulated and 2992 upregulated in the low-FURIN-expressing cells relative to the high-expressing cells (q < 0.05), with FURIN being the gene with the largest difference (Figure 8 and Figure S5). The gene discussed is FURIN; the disease is cancer.
