Of our set of 21 pharmacologically validated hypercholesterolemia genes, 19 genes were the closest gene to a significant LDL-C genomic locus, representing 527-fold enrichment compared to what is expected by chance (95% confidence interval: 126 to 5376; Fischer’s exact p < 2.2 × 10−16) (Table 2 and Table 3, Figure 1). This evidence concerns the gene COG2 and Hypercholesterolemia.
