Importantly, NR6A1 is reported as an oncogene in HCC: it is up-regulated in HCC patients and associated with a poor prognosis; it promotes cell proliferation, migration, invasiveness, and tumor growth in vitro and in vivo, most likely through the cell cycle, mTOR, WNT, and ERBB signaling pathways [66,67,68,69,70]. The gene discussed is NR6A1; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
