Our study found an increase in ANGPT1 expression in the PCOS overweight/obese cohort versus their non-PCOS counterparts, that agrees with other reports of elevated levels in PCOS, suggesting a compensatory mechanism in response to the heightened vascular permeability driven by other factors like vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) [36]. Here, VEGFA is linked to polycystic ovary syndrome.
