Patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD)-related HCC show higher methylation levels of FLCN and WDR6 and lower methylation levels of MAML3, TRIM4, PRC1, TUBA1B, and WHSC1 in tissue compared to patients with hepatitis B virus (HBV) or/and hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and HCC [12,13].
