The SNPs in genes involved in oxidative stress (SOD1/2 [28], PPARG [23], GPX1 [33], CYBA [38], MT2A [31]), metabolism (SPP1, BGLAP, MGP, CYP24A1 [24], HSD11B1 [14], ABCG8 [37]), RAAS [44], immune system (ML2 [17]), transcription regulation (EP300 [1]), and transmembrane channels (AQP11 [30]), among others, were all related to an increased risk of CKD progression in the diabetic population. This evidence concerns the gene CYBA and chronic kidney disease.
