Figure 3B shows that for both 30–39 and 40–49 age groups, IgM reacting with epsilon toxin were significantly higher in MS compared to HCs (p < 0.001 and p = 0.03, respectively). The same analysis performed on males shows a significant increase in IgM reacting with epsilon toxin for the 30–39 age group (p = 0.03) only, compared to HCs (Figure 3B). Altogether, these data highlight that MS is associated with significantly increased levels of IgM reacting with C. perfringens ETX, particularly detected in young women. The gene discussed is CD40LG; the disease is myeloid sarcoma.
