It was first shown that HLA-A*02:01 is independently protective against MS, and later in 2018, when the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) studies conducted in Caucasians showed that HLA-C*03:04 and HLA-B*40:01 alleles were also protective against MS, independently from the HLADRB1*15:01 allele. Here, HLA-B is linked to myeloid sarcoma.
