Even though many studies support a tumor suppressive function for miR-499a-5p in different human tumors such as osteosarcoma [69], cervical cancer [70], acute myeloid leukemia [71] and glioma [72], our data reveal a pro-proliferative role possibly through modulating Meis1 mRNA and protein expression.
