DDIT4 and neoplasm: In the hypoxic tumour microenvironment, TAMs strongly upregulate the expression of the negative regulatory factor REDD1 of mTOR, and the inhibition of mTOR mediated by REDD1 can hinder glycolysis in TAMs, causing ECs to dominate glucose competition with TAMs, leading to overactivation of the endothelium and blood vessels and thus causing abnormal vascular structure [64].
