Compared to chronic HBV infection, levels of quantitative anti‐HBc were not significantly different in HBsAg carriers without HBV‐induced liver damage (HBeAg‐positive and HBeAg‐negative chronic HBV infection) and HDV coinfection, whereas significantly higher levels were detected in patients with untreated HBeAg‐negative chronic hepatitis B [13]. This evidence concerns the gene KRT88P and hepatitis D virus infection.
