Researchers used the Illumina 850 K methylation chip to compare the DNA methylation profiles of 8 MG patients and 4 healthy controls, finding significantly reduced methylation levels of genes such as calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase 1D (CAMK1D) and cAMP response element-binding protein 5 (CREB5) in the MG group. Here, CREB5 is linked to myasthenia gravis.
