CASP9 and central nervous system cancer: Our analyses revealed that BLA promoted apoptosis and inhibited glioma cell proliferation, while increasing the expression of apoptosis-related proteins, including cleaved caspase-9, cleaved caspase-3, and Bax, and inhibiting the expression of the anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-2 to suppress the proliferation of glioma cells and induce a G2/M cell cycle arrest.
