In a UK-based study using the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD), GLP-1 RA use was not associated to new-onset depression or self-inflicted injuries including suicide in comparison to sulfonylurea use (hazard ratio (HR), 1.25; 95% CI, 0.63–2.50) although these results may be limited by insufficient statistical power due to its small sample size (501 patients exposed to GLP-1 RA).10 The gene discussed is GCG; the disease is major depressive disorder.
