Of note, we do find evidence of increased genomic instability in p53-/- mice after MHV68 infection (S.M. Owens and J.C. Forrest, manuscript in preparation), and the capacity to maintain in culture p53-deficient B cells expressing M2 and LMP1 (Supplementary Fig. 13b) suggests the potential for p53-dependent prevention of lymphomagenesis driven by certain GHV gene products.
