Though BRAFi monotherapy may be associated with hyperproliferative cutaneous events, including squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and keratoacanthoma, through BRAFi-induced paradoxical activation of MAPK pathway signaling in BRAF wild-type cells, none of the 15 patients in this review were diagnosed with SCC or keratoacanthoma during the time of follow-up (22). This evidence concerns the gene BRAF and squamous cell carcinoma.
