Indeed, increased ERAP1 and ERAP2 expression was demonstrated to raise the odds of developing a number of autoimmune diseases such as Chron, Beçhet’s disease, Birdshot Chorioretinopathy and Type I diabetes (Alvarez-Navarro et al., 2015; Castro-Santos et al., 2017; Guasp et al., 2019; Limanaqi et al., 2023). This evidence concerns the gene ERAP1 and autoimmune disease.
