RAB23 and neoplasm: Rab23 is overexpressed in diffuse-type gastric cancer, where it serves as an invasion mediator gene (Hou et al., 2008), in hepatocellular carcinoma, where its overexpression correlates significantly with tumour size (Liu et al., 2007), and in muscle-invasive FGFR3-non-mutated bladder cancers, suggesting its active role in tumour progression (Ho et al., 2012).
