RAB5A and cancer: Rab5A is overexpressed in several cancer types, including breast and ovarian cancers, hepatocellular carcinoma and oral squamous cell carcinoma (Zhao et al., 2010; Yang et al., 2011; Pan et al., 2015; Geng et al., 2016; Zhang et al., 2017; Ma et al., 2020), where it acts as an oncoprotein, stimulating cancer proliferation and invasion and thus promoting the malignant phenotype.
