Since H3K4 trimethylation belongs to the enzymatic functions of KMT2A and the enzymatic domain is lost in KMT2A fusion proteins we analyzed the H3K4me3 status of the SMAD1 promoter in KMT2A WT and KMT2A-rearranged cells using chromatin immunoprecipitation coupled with qPCR (ChIP-qPCR) in AML cell lines. This evidence concerns the gene KMT2A and acute myeloid leukemia.
