An increase in AIP with a decrease in CD4 cell counts was attributed to be due to activation of hepatic synthesis of TG as well as decreased triglyceride clearance from the circulations combined with decrease fatty acid oxidation and, furthermore, increased the activities of endothelial lipase and phospholipase-A2 that can lead to reduction of HDL-C levels by increasing its clearance from the circulations [58–60]. Here, CD4 is linked to autoimmune pancreatitis.
