In UCEC, CD44, FGF2, FGF10, KDM6A, FN1, and MMP2 genes are strongly correlated with several critical cancer-related functional states, including angiogenesis, apoptosis, cell cycle, differentiation, DNA damage, DNA repair, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), hypoxia, inflammation, invasion, metastasis, proliferation, quiescence, and stemness (Fig. 6B). This evidence concerns the gene CD44 and cancer.
