In individuals without T2D, ARO protein levels also correlated positively with the obesity markers BMI (rho = .554; P = .014) and body fat percentage (rho = 0.625; P = .013), as well as markers of insulin resistance such as fasting insulin (rho = 0.505; P = .033) and a positive trend with HOMA-IR (rho = 0.473; P = .073) (data not shown).
