Experimental studies on exosomes derived from nasal lavage fluid and mucosal epithelial cells of patients with CRSwNP and healthy controls indicated that exosomes from impaired epithelial tissues contain differentially expressed proteins primarily associated with epithelial remodeling via the p53 signaling pathway (Zhou M. et al., 2020). This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps.
