In MCF‐7 breast cancer cell line, luteolin also substantially enhanced the expression of miR‐34a and miR‐16 while significantly reduced the expression of miR‐21 that have resulted in decrease of cell viability, development of apoptosis in some cells during G0 or G1 phases of cell cycle by downregulating Bcl‐2 and upregulating BAX (Magura, Moodley, and Mackraj 2022). Here, BAX is linked to breast carcinoma.
