CRP and Huntington disease: Guo et al. observed significantly lower zinc levels in hemodialysis patients (0.36 ± 0.04 μg/mL) compared to those undergoing peritoneal dialysis (PD) (0.68 ± 0.03 μg/mL) and healthy controls (0.76 ± 0.08 μg/mL), with elevated CRP levels in HD patients (15.71 ± 2.03 ng/mL vs. 8.42 ± 1.14 ng/mL in PD and 0.68 ± 0.12 ng/mL in controls), suggesting a link between zinc deficiency and inflammation (43).
