Due to the involvement of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) 2, an enzyme of the renin–angiotensin–(aldosterone) system (RAS) as cell surface receptor for SARS-CoV-2 and potential therapeutical target [4–6], the regulation of the RAS in coronavirus infectious disease (COVID)-19 has been subject of study since its emergence.
