Previous studies by Lucy A et al. (2019) [67] reported selective antitumor activity of WEE1 inhibitors in non-germinal center B-cell DLBCL cell lines, demonstrating that WEE1 inhibitors induce cytotoxicity through aberrant CDK1 and CDK2 activation [68], disrupting the DNA-damage G2–M checkpoint [69]. This evidence concerns the gene CDK2 and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
