KEGG enrichment analysis suggested that the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in CD4+ T cells were involved mainly in cytokine‒cytokine receptor interactions and prion disease (Supplementary Fig. 15a, b), whereas DEGs in CD8+ T cells were involved primarily in protein processing in endoplasmic reticulum and cytokine‒cytokine receptor interactions (Supplementary Fig. 15c, d). Here, CD4 is linked to prion disease.
