To determine whether RickA or Sca2 contribute to pathological changes at the tissue level during infection, we performed hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining as well as immunohistochemistry (IHC) on skin, spleen, lung, liver, and brain tissue sections from i.d.-infected Ifnar1−/−; Ifngr1−/− DKO mice at 10 dpi with WT, rickA::Tn, and sca2::Tn strains.
