Accumulating evidence suggests an association between kidney and brain disorders, but the causal relationship between renal function and cognitive impairment remains to be established.69 Recent studies showed that plasma levels of N,N,N-trimethyl-5-aminovalerate involved in lysine metabolism indicate elevated urinary albumin excretion.70 Here, we found that the plasma levels of N,N,N-trimethyl-5-aminovalerate and creatinine were significantly decreased in the CMA group. This evidence concerns the gene ALB and brain disorder.
