These morphological data were corroborated at the macroscopic level, as shown by an increase in the heart weight/tibia length (HW/TL) ratio (Figure 3E), and at the molecular level, represented by an increase in the expression of classical cardiac hypertrophy genes measured as the ratio of foetal β/myosin heavy chain 7 or 6 (Myh7/Myh6) (Figure 3F). Here, MYH7 is linked to cardiac hypertrophy.
