Since myocardial infarction and T2DM were the comorbidities that exhibited the strongest association with age advancement, we compared the relative concentrations of GFAP, SMOC1, WNT9A, and WISP2 (identified between the top ten predictors as the ones upregulated with chronological age) within participants from the 2000HIV cohort stratified based on the presence or absence of these comorbidities. This evidence concerns the gene CCN5 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
