CDKN2A and exocrine pancreatic carcinoma: Up to 10% of pancreatic carcinomas are hereditary/genetic, with the following syndromes and genes playing a role: hereditary breast and ovarian carcinoma (BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene), hereditary non‐polypoid colon carcinoma (HNPCC, mismatch‐repair gene), ataxia telangiectasia (ATM gene), familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP, APC gene), Peutz‐Jeghers syndrome (STK11 gene), familial atypical multiple mole–melanoma (FAMMM)‐pancreatic carcinoma syndrome (FAMMMPC syndrome, CDKN2A gene).
