Taken together, our results suggest that knockdown of FTH1 expression in intestinal epithelial cells rescues T3SS‐induced ferroptosis in intestinal epithelial cells, restores the expression of occludin and ZO‐1 in intestinal epithelial cells, and ameliorates intestinal barrier injury, thereby attenuating the progression of atherosclerosis in T2D‐AS mice.
