GPX4 and cancer: Recent discoveries of novel programmed cell death forms, such as ferroptosis and pyroptosis, offer new avenues for cancer immunotherapy.[29, 30, 31] These programmed cell deaths are immunogenic, capable of inducing acute inflammatory responses and activating antitumor immunity.[32, 33, 34] Ferroptosis mainly involves lipid peroxidation and glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) inhibition, which releases immunogenic molecules that promote immune cell recruitment.[35, 36] Pyroptosis is a highly inflammatory programmed cell death.
