Fibronectin-1 is a glycoprotein involved in cellular adhesion and is a marker for preeclampsia.28 Fibronectin-1 pathway activation in both G1 and WT (littermate control) placentas in the BAC/APOL1 mice and G1 placenta in Alb/APOL1 micel indicated that activation of this pathway connected LaTP and SpT cells and monocytes, thus representing a common pathogenic mechanism in preeclamptic dams. This evidence concerns the gene APOL1 and preeclampsia.
