REN and hypertensive disorder: While overall, there is highly consistent and compelling evidence that vitamin A exerts BP‐reducing actions—predominantly through repressing oxidative stress, improving endothelial function, or modulating the activity of renin–angiotensin system (RAS)—in various animal models of hypertension (Abbasian, Alavi, and Roohbakhsh 2023; Młynarska et al. 2024), whether people who are at risk of developing hypertension can gain adequate benefits from vitamin A supplements remains debatable.
