Overall, due to the pleiotropic and pro-tumorigenic activities of YY1 expression in T cells and tumor cells, and the prognostic significance of YY1 expression in cancers [1], further research is urgently needed to develop specific YY1-targeting inhibitors that will have significant anti-tumor effects on most cancers, particularly those that are resistant to immunotherapy and cytotoxic agents.
