Another trial was conducted on 15 patients with T2DM subjects who were non-insulin-dependent; they were treated with metformin 1 g/day, glibenclamide 10 mg/day, or a mixture of the two drugs for one week, and, afterward, they were treated with half their dosage of these hypoglycemic agents, together with 400 mg/day of fruit extract from Momordica charantia, for one week.
