Previous studies on the pathological mechanism of myopia have focused on ocular inflammation [5], dopamine (neurotransmitter) signaling [6], nitric oxide [7], TGF-β [7], etc. Despite the large amount of myopia research, the molecular/cellular mechanisms underlying myopia development are poorly understood, hindering the search for the most effective pharmacological control.
