Another interesting study indicates that the deacetylation of FOXO3 by these sirtuins promotes its poly-ubiquitination via the E3 ubiquitin ligase Skp2, ultimately leading to reduced FOXO3 protein levels, particularly in malignant PCa cells, where elevated SIRT1 and Skp2 expressions are observed [130].
