Additionally, given the prominent role of GIP receptors in the ventricular myocardium and the reported Tirze-mediated cardiac protective effects in different models of type II diabetes and obesity [18,29,30], we hypothesized that Tirze and/or adropin might have a role in controlling cardiometabolic abnormalities in the induced PCOS rat model, which has not been demonstrated yet.
