AFP and teratoma: Microscopic examination (Figures 6A-6D) confirmed the presence of tissues from all three embryonic layers, including both mature and immature components, consistent with an immature teratoma without malignant features. Postoperatively, AFP levels demonstrated the expected physiological decline, consistent with the absence of malignant components. The neonate exhibited no complications such as bowel obstruction, hemorrhage, or infection, which are known potential complications of retroperitoneal teratomas.
