PKN1 and atherosclerosis: Feeding of control mice and EC-Pkn1-KO animals lacking the Ldlr with a high-fat diet (HFD) for 16 weeks led to the development of atherosclerosis with strongly reduced plaque sizes in the aorta, in the brachiocephalic artery as well as in the outflow tract of EC-Pkn1-KO mice compared to control animals (Fig. 6j–l).
