In line with data from the Human Protein Atlas showing that KLF5 is universally expressed across human tissues, and our findings showing that KLF5 promotes chromatin recruitment of BRD4 in multiple cells lines; in the osteosarcoma cell line, U2-OS, the untransformed human retinal pigment epithelial-1 (RPE-1) cell line, and in the lung squamous cancer cell line, HARA47, these observations therefore suggest that KLF5 is widely if not universally required for recruiting BRD4, rather than cell-line/type specific. The gene discussed is KLF5; the disease is osteosarcoma.
