Nevertheless, collagens are also expressed on tumour cells and can trigger immune inhibitory signalling through leukocyte‐associated Ig‐like receptor‐1,40 which may explain our findings that, in normal adrenal glands, COL2A1 and FGL1 proteins were in low levels and located in the extracellular matrix, whereas in ACC patients, COL2A1 and FGL1 proteins were in high levels and located in cytoplasm and nucleus. This evidence concerns the gene COL2A1 and adrenal cortex carcinoma.
