However, current evidence does not indicate a direct relationship between AA metabolism/p53-mediated apoptosis signaling axis and the protective effects of safflower against ischemic stroke, which suggests that further in vitro experiments like exploring the protective effects and mechanisms of the major metabolites in safflower against endothelial cell injury induced by oxygen-glucose deprivation and reperfusion are necessary.
