Investigations have demonstrated a substantial correlation between elevated concentrations of C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-18 (IL-18), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and ferritin in women with PCOS and control groups that are age- and BMI-matched [29,30,31,32]. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is polycystic ovary syndrome.
